Today I'm going to talk about enhancing the environment to increase mental focus or boost brain power. These suggestions work great in an office, home office, study area and anywhere you want to create an environment where mental focus is needed.
We can combine the subtle energies of plants, crystals, essential oils, and color to seamlessly work together to create an environment that helps you focus.
PLANTS:
Every plant is unique, every flower is unique, just like each human is unique they have their own special gifts. Please know that its always a good idea to have multiple plants and place them in groups. That strengthens their energy field and in turn ours as well. Also placing plants in groups in corners or by windows takes advantage of the special carrier energy in those locations and pushes their energy further into the room. Here are 11 plants that are great to use for this purpose.
COLOR: Yellow
When I see the color yellow in someone's auric field, their mental state is strong in the following qualities:
When you introduce the color yellow in your physical environment, it affects the subconscious mind and will begin to activate the same qualities in you. I've shared in multiple aura imaging photos the energy of the environment blends with our own. Consider adding yellow elements in your room
FLOWERS:
Hyacinth's energy is really great to remove distractions and interruptions. It helps you focus and find clarity - it clears the primary root center - usually blocked when we procrastinate and the sacral center that helps unlock our creativity
Yellow roses have an incredible way to activate joy in us while we organize and focus our thoughts . It helps us have fun while still honoring our responsibilities
Wisteria - increasing focus and energy, protection, healing, decision making and raising levels of your spirituality, these are the qualities of the wisteria. Having them around can really help boost all these qualities in you!
ESSENTIAL OILS: If you have the ability to diffuse any of these or a chosen blend of these essential oils. These can be great to calm a distracted mind and help you focus - be it for a study group, work from home meeting or anywhere you need to spend some time focusing
My favorite is to often combine a few drops of rose, peppermint and mandarin - I find it very help to get the mind focused on the task at hand.
CRYSTALS: Four crystals can truly hold intention and help your mind focus
If you can find any of these crystals keep them on your desk. Clear quartz can be used to hold and magnify any intention and the others are great for helping clarify your thoughts as well as draw in abundance. With any crystals you use in your space its important to remember a few things
1. ALWAYS clear the energy of the crystals before use and periodically
2. Add a positive intention/affirmation - a crystal will very simply work with the intention you set . If you omit these two steps, the results you get may not be very desirable!
Subtle symptoms of iodine deficiency are cold sores, canker sores, styes, itchy eyes, itchy ears, allergies, postnasal drip, sore throat, chronic cough, hemorrhoids, ingrown toenail swelling, toenail and fingernail fungus, and cuts or scratches that get infected.
One quick clue is the coloration of your fingernails. If your fingernails don’t have healthy color to them, chances are you’re lacking enough iodine.
Why Is Iodine So Important?

More and more companies and architects are embracing biophilic design—life-enhancing spaces that integrate nature into our everyday environments. In this edition, we're exploring the remarkable Jewel Changi Airport in Singapore,(Biophilic Design Award Winner - 2019) a leading example of biophilic architecture. It’s so captivating that travelers intentionally book longer layovers just to experience it!
As architect Moshe Safdie, the visionary behind Jewel, said: “Jewel weaves together an experience of nature and the marketplace, dramatically asserting the idea of the airport as an uplifting and vibrant urban center, engaging travelers, visitors, and residents, and echoing Singapore’s reputation as ‘The City in the Garden.’” .
I love sharing global biophilic design inspirations, like Jewel, that remind us how we can enhance our own spaces with nature. Here are some simple ways to bring that rejuvenating energy into your home
1. Incorporate Natural Elements
Indoor Plants: Add greenery with a variety of indoor plants to purify the air and bring a calming, natural vibe to your space. Use large potted plants or small hanging gardens.
Water Features: A small tabletop fountain or an indoor waterfall can replicate the soothing effect of Jewel's Rain Vortex.
2. Maximize Natural Light
Let in as much natural light as possible by using large windows, sheer curtains, or strategically placing mirrors to reflect light. Natural light promotes well-being and enhances the feeling of space.
3. Use Organic Materials
Incorporate materials like wood, stone, and bamboo in your furniture and decor to evoke a connection with nature, just like Jewel’s blend of natural elements and modern architecture.
4. Create a Relaxing Space
Design a small indoor garden or nature-inspired corner with plants, soft lighting, and natural textures. This could be your personal “forest valley” for relaxation and meditation.
5. Water and Sound
Jewel Changi incorporates the soothing sound of flowing water; you can introduce calming soundscapes with soft music, nature sounds, or water features to create a peaceful ambiance.
6. Play with Shapes
Jewel uses organic, flowing shapes. Try adding rounded furniture, circular rugs, or curved elements to break up harsh lines and encourage energy flow in your home.
7. Green Walls or Vertical Gardens
Install a green wall or vertical garden in your living space or patio to add a touch of the outdoors inside, similar to Jewel’s lush vegetation.
By integrating these nature-inspired elements, you can infuse your home with the calm, refreshing energy that Jewel Changi Airport is known for.
